heaven for book lovers is the friends of the seattle public library book sale that happens 2x a year not too far from where we live. over 100,000 books under one roof, hardbacks at $1, trade paperbacks at $.75, mass markets at $.50. beautiful. we spent $55.50 for 62, count 'em, 62 books. don't ask how we lugged them (yes my back hurts), and don't ask how many people brought rollaboard suitcases and those grocery-cart things that little old ladies roll their groceries home with... bedlam, really! it was fantastic. we have books in german, a hawaiian-english dictionary (yes, something that useful!), a children's book or two, lots of classic fiction (esp. mark twain), a practical guide to medicine from the turn of the century, some sci-fi... i'm in book heaven!
