the weekend and updates
we had a nice weekend with two good friends from college visiting.... i lived in the same dorm with both of them my freshman year, and all three of us landed in the same 8am (!) greek philosophy course, and have managed to keep in touch. they came to throw me a mini babyshower, and to pamper me, which they did by taking us out to dinner, going to see a movie (little miss sunshine), cooking dinner for us ... it was lovely.
i feel huge and huger, and as of recently, my feet look like sausages. pitting edema, no less: that is, when one presses down on said, aforementioned sausages, it leaves a dent for a minute or so. water retention, yucko. very uncomfortable. and the baby is definitely dropping down a bit, given the increase in the number of bathroom trips (yes, i know i just went literally 30 seconds ago, but sorry, gotta go again!).... and this so-called 'lightening' also means i have lovely pelvic pain. honestly, i can't wait, and if this little gal wants to show up early, so be it! the kicks still are magical, sometimes alien, but i still smile everytime she wiggles or tosses and turns. and i look at all the little clothes, the wooden toys, the books (lucky gal), and can't wait for her to get here. even if she arrives on her due-date or later, all in good time. i can't wait.
