ring ring ring ring ring
fire alarm rings at 4:54 AM.
we get up, get into winter clothes. get a scared cat from under the bed. get our laptops which contain our lives on them.
and head downstairs. 5 flights.
all within 4 minutes.
we wait in the snow with other crusty looking people.
we are shooed back in by the firemen. yes, go back to your apartments (they said rooms. as if we still lived in the dorms).
and we go back to bed.
but the alarm. rings from 4:54 until 8 AM. it does not stop. it was so godawfully horrible. still scarred. and tired.
