iron chefs we are not.

after a woefully failed attempt at "sorbet balls" for our party tomorrow (chocolate dipped little balls of sorbet), we are a bit discouraged. i won't paint any pictures, but chocolate was everywhere, the icecream in puddles, and the two of us alternatively laughing, alternatively in tears. not the best thing in the world.
after realizing that one needs to defrost meat before using it (really, we CAN cook, and we do it regularly and well. our heads are in the clouds right now), we have reshuffled everything from fridge to freezer to countertop, and are hoping that the teriyaki-curry-yoghurt marinade ends up infiltrating the chicken....
i'll keep you posted. this is turning into a botched episode of iron chef. "yes, miyako-san, i did say they used curry in that sauce. ah. a strange choice, i would agree, but dandlioneyes-san and hubby-san have been known to pull off strange creations before. but will they finish [pause] before [pause] the buzzer [pause] rings?"
iron chefs we are not. try aluminum chefs. something bendable and that doesn't do so well under pressure...
