we had a nice weekend, starting with a partner yoga course on friday evening (less relaxing than the normal yoga course, but with some good labor massage tips to help me cope), and ending with a pizza tonight which is still baking and bubbling in the oven. can't wait, i'm starving!
in between these two events (from alpha to omega, yoga to pizza) we had part 1 of our labor and delivery course (good info on pain relief options, which ones affect the baby, etc. etc.), a BBQ at a colleague's house, and a trip to a french cafe which seriously had the most delicious croissants (pain au chocolat, really), that i've had in a long, long while. 1 stick of butter per croissant, or something like that, at least that's what i'm guessing, given how that thing just melted away when one took a bite out of it. we also walked along lake washington at madrona park, and then came home.
the nesting instict seems to have hit early, for today the basement closet was emptied out and i'm trying to sort and throw away things and am going nuts. whenever i have a big project like that, it looks like crap first (boxes strewn all over the basement floor), and then slowly gets even worse, until it finally gets better... we're at the "crap" or "worse than crap" phase now, but it'll get there.
i haven't written about world events, because i just don't seem to have the energy. i hope the cease-fire goes into effect and has some effect... i'm doubtful given the barrage of attacks going in each direction, the increase in violence. i'm just hoping it'll go into effect and hold, though... the volatility of the area, the useless loss of life... too much for the area, for me, for the world.
the baby gal is kicking away, and my belly sometimes does these weird alien shape-morphing things that have me smiling. very odd, really. tomorrow i'm 32 weeks, the exact gestational age when i was born. i hope she stays put at least another month!
later, gaters, pizza time (thai pizza with zucchini, chicken, some leeks, peanut and hot sauce)...
