archives and passive aggressiveness

long time no write.

so today i went to a real, live archive, like a real one with manuscripts. one where you can only use a pencil. or your laptop. and i was shushed by the librarian. as in: you need to speak a little quieter! i haven't been shushed since i was in highschool. so then i whispered. it was all rather amusing. there are 25 running meters of documents on this one particular guy i am studying. that, i was informed, is a lot. they even have the pair of glasses he wore. i feel a bit odd about that, but then again, i don't need to look at them. these 25 running meters are organized, indexed, in a 180 paged index. ITEM by ITEM. and i need to pick and chose which letters i want to look at. jeesh. jeesh indeed.

but it was fun. i felt serious. like i was actually doing work. and so on. and so forth. twas fun.

and it snowed today.

and i have a new past-time. so you see, i called the cops about my downstairs neighbors over the weekend. because they were loud until 4:35 am. not that i am counting or anything. no, not at all. and it turns out, that, gee, the heater is really noise-conductive. so guess who's passive aggressiveness has skyrocketed to a new high? you guessed correctly, that would be: me. i rhythmically knock against the heater to make it sound like it is letting out steam, and i do that at weird hours. must annoy the crap out of them. OH WELL. then TURN DOWN YOUR MUSIC AFTER MIDNIGHT. tshya.

later gaters!
