weedkiller mattresses

today i vent not about the election and "the shrub" (evil and pernicious shrub that appears to be hard to get rid of), as getting naked calls him, but about a mattress. (maybe all it'll take is weedkiller?)
it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
best of times: we had a bed. worst of times: 2.5 months ago, when i was still living in germany, we ordered a queen size mattress for our brand spankin' new bed. it arrived, and lo and behold, it was a king size mattress. which didn't fit on our bed. so on the floor we slept, with a comfy king (our apartment is so small, that it was wall-to-wall mattressing).... and we called the giant warehouse where said mattress had purchased from. at first they denied that they had delivered the wront mattress ("records indicate that we delivered a queen. you must be mistaken"), and then they said they couldn't just do an exchange. easier would be to process a return for the king and then to purchase a brand new mattress from them. we decided to go elsewhere. meanwhile, we have the most comfortable mattress ever upstairs, and a king, sitting in the garage. not yet picked up. not yet refunded. sitting there, wrapped in a sheet. uhm, anyone see what's annoying about this? a) no refund; b) no refund; c) no refund; d) a mattress in the garage that is getting funkier and funkier as time goes by, taking up space.
they were supposed to pick it up today. we called this morning. they had no pick-up recorded in their schedule.
don'tcha just LOVE things like that?
anyways, long story short, we own two mattresses right now, and hope to be king-free by monday. i'll keep you posted.
