free samples
so i did something somewhat stupid today. admit it, you guys are all sample crazy too, right? if you are at a nice grocery store or costco, and there is a food sample, you'll most likely take it, right? right. i thought so. so do i. i'm no different than other sample-afficionados.
so we are at a store getting barley coffee (fake coffee that has a similar taste and is quite nice, and caffeine free at that), and it is a very shee-shee sort of store, because safeway etc. doesn't carry this bizarre barley drink. and this store happens to be the god of samples: fresh fruit, chips, all sorts of things. i nibble on pears, make my way to the dessert section (cheapos today, no sweets), go and have a piece of popcorn, and see this lovely stand with little jars with what LOOKS like body butter. i believe it might even have said body butter. there are convenient toothpicks to dig the stuff out of the jar, and i love free lotions for my dry hands.... and that's where the problem begins. i skoop out the stuff, take a big blob, and rub it on the back of my hands.
and rub it in some more.
i look at the "flavor", and it says chocolate. mmmm, chocolate. i probably went for that because, oh, cheapo-store didn't put out pastry samples.
until i realize that the damn stuff isn't rubbing in and feels sticky.
meanwhile, my hubby is laughing, and he laughs even more as we read the jar label: "edible body paint." yes, folks, i had actually rubbed in edible chocolate onto my now VERY sticky hands. not a nice lotion, NO. body paint. chocolate body paint.
that's all. i was embarassed. and sticky. yup.
happy v-day!
