man i miss berkeley
long time no write, but i don't have all that much to say.
i was hugely nostalgic when we went to the n*rah j*nes concert in berkeley on friday night. nostalgic for berkeley. for late-night walks across campus. it made me think how much i enjoyed living there, being a student there. and yet, if i am honest, those years were also hard. nostalgia'll do that to you, rose-colored glasses and all.
the concert was quite good - her voice was stunning, and though her stage presence was quiet, we had a good time, of course, after 2 hours of sitting outside in the chilly east bay air...
other than that, not much. we spent the night in piedmont friday-saturday, worked yesterday, and are meeting some old friends for brunch today in san jose. they did the long-distance commuting relationship for years as well, and always were somewhat of an inspiration: so it IS doable, and worth it.
i need to skeedaddle....
