of estate sales, work, and cats

apparently, raccoons can be quite the trouble, if i am to judge by the notes that were left for me. a) they are loud and frightening when they get their groove on. yikes. hope they don't chose my backyard as their love-nest. b) if they get used to being fed and then the food is withdrawn, beware! steel-enforced doors might be necessary, since they fling themselves at doors... *yikes* i have taken to putting the food down on the patio now, not directly by my door.

today has been a mixed day. we went to an estate sale first thing in the morning, which was actually quite lovely. except for the fact that, as an estate sale, there was a very good chance that the items for sale belonged to someone who has since passed away. i always think about that, and it gives me a stomach ache. the house was lovely: modern, in a sort-of 60s style, but everything very up to date. a bathroom that i swear was bigger than our apartment. regardless, it was nice, and even though it was day 2 of the sale, we bought two nightstands in cherry wood that are lovely. good deal.

work wise (here is the mixed part) it just isn't clicking today. i looked at what i have printed out, and got a stomach ache. why are there days that are just this damn lousy? at what point does that adrenaline kick in and i just write away?
here's hoping for tomorrow!
that, and i've been hanging out with the little black and white kitten of our neighborhood, probably 8 months old, very cuddly. cuddly cats make me a happy dandlioneyes.
