nothing says friday night like a pint of cold stone creamery ice-cream. we had a nice evening -- turkish okra dish and couscous for dinner while watching one of joss whedon's tv shows (joss whedon, i.e. the wonderful creator of buffy and angel and firefly -- which is what we were watching).... we then took a 40 minute walk and looked at roofs of houses (anyone recently re-roofed a house and have any recommendations for us?)... we also looked at houses and said "huh, ours is so much nicer!" (ah yes, proud soon-to-be-homeowners. going through the joys of house insurance and all that jazz). and then: ice-cream after the walk. lovely evening.
i went through boxes from college today, some of them 7, 8 years old. i had stored them at my grandmothers, replete with college books, some clothes (oh boy, was my sense of fashion refined back then!), and loads of letters. letters from freshman year. from my old british penpal that both eggsaucted and saucy99 might remember as "mary". from our very own saucy99, telling me all about the boys she thought were cute, and how she was going to go to new orleans for spring break. i found my old excavation kit from my days as indiana jones, still covered in dust from sannai maruyama, where i spent a summer excavating. dust of ages, literally.
i'm sort of looking forward to going through all those things in more detail up in seattle...
